Nacchini - Treviso - Piazza S. Maria dei Battuti

clicca per ingrandire l'immagineThe organ, situated in the choir loft above the main door and enclosed in a neo-classical case painted in imitation marble with gold capitals, was built by Pietro Nacchini and is the oldest in the town. Over the keyboard are the words: PETRUS NACHINI FECIT ANNO MDCCL OPUS CLIX.
It has reached our times in its almost original condition, without having undergone the reforms to which organs from the 18th and 19th centuries were subjected to in order to adapt them to the changes in tastes and new performance requirements. Abandoned after the last war it was renovated for the first time in 1971.
Ultimately, after being abandoned again due to renovation of the choir loft and other artefacts inside the church, the instrument was renovated by Francesco Zanin from Codroipo in 1994.
